Title:
  Installer crash upgrading 11.04 x64 -> 12.04.1 x64 desktop. From fresh
  live USB stick prepared with Linux Live USB Creator.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  After the crashed upgrade grub is able to boot into 12.04.1, but
  the user that the installer was supposed to create is missing.
  Logging in with normal user is impossible.
  Guest login works perfectly.

  Other possibly relevant bits of information:
  Target machine had 11.04 grub managed dual boot to Vista x64.
  Home directories were mounted via NFS on original 11.04.
  There were some really old user home dirs left in the original /home dir.
