Title:
  gpartedbin crashed when scanning disk with partition type fd

Status in “gparted” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gparted

  I am using Ubuntu 10.10, gparted 0.6.2 and parted 2.3.

  I am creating a primary partition with fdisk over a whole disk through
  "sudo fdisk /dev/sdX" then "n", "p", "1", "enter", "enter", "t", "fd"
  and finally "w". I then lanch gparted through "sudo gparted". I expect
  to have the gui of gparted displayed and the newly created partition
  recognized.

  If I actually do "sudo gparted", the terminal displays this:
  ======================
  libparted : 2.3
  ======================

  glibmm-ERROR **:
  unhandled exception (type std::exception) in signal handler:
  what: basic_string::_S_create

  aborting...

  I also tried to create the partition with gparted modify its type with
  fdisk and the same behavior happens.
