Title:
grub2 got damaged on Ubuntu12.04 - unbootable system
Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
After tree weeks of work with Ubuntu12.04 and daily updates(also with
kernel) the grub2 bootloader got damaged near after installing
linux3.2.10-generic.
The system reached an unbootable state.
I was able to reinstall grup2 with an installation cd from:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
An image of 23.1.2012 does it work in rescue mode with a
newinstallation of grup in the MBR.
After this a newstart brings my system back.
Anyway, it should not be happen that grup get's damaged, even my
kernel updates.
I am not sure what apport does attach here of the sytem files exactly,
so when something more is needed, tell me.
