Why exactly did you set this back to Confirmed? Examining the contents
of UbiquitySyslog.txt attached to this bug report you can see hundreds
of these lines:

These are indicative of an issue with the hard disk being used in your
system. Has this situation changed?

I tried an upgrade from 11.04 but this crashed.
I then tried a clean install of 11.10 from the LiveCD but this also crashes on install (twice).
