Title:
error: no mapping exists for `rootvol_tmp-ubuntu_root'
Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: grub2
While this appears to be a duplicate of bug 525085, as you can see in
this report I have 1.98-1ubuntu9 of grub2 installed which is many
releases beyond the 1.98-1ubuntu2 that is reported to fix 525085.
In any case, quite simply:
# /usr/sbin/grub-probe --device /dev/mapper/rootvol_tmp-ubuntu_root --target=abstraction
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no mapping exists for `rootvol_tmp-ubuntu_root'.
As you can see, grub-probe is failing to assess the LVM LV
rootvol_tmp-ubuntu_root which is mounted at /, on which /boot is
located.
