Public bug reported:

Hi
I found that add-apt-repository doesn't check for duplicate software sources located in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ , causes reinstalling sources of some Debian packages that configure itself's software sources in sources.list.d/ like google-chrome and dropbox producing duplicate source lines.

** Affects: software-properties (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Summary changed:

- add-apt-repository doesn't check entries not in sources.list causes duplicate software sources
+ add-apt-repository doesn't check entries in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ causes duplicate software sources
