Please remove video drivers from the xorg-edgers ppa before trying the
upgrade again. ppa-purge may help you to revert to the official version
of the packages.
I'm closing this report because it is not a bug with Ubuntu. Don't
hesitate to file any bug you may find.

When using the terminal to upgrade from ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 i
received this message:
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal.
After typing 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' I arrived here
