  mdns name advertisment and resolution do not work

Status in “avahi” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  The machine is not advertising its name (other machines cannot use
  foo.local), and resolution of foo.local names is also not possible.
  The avahi daemons do seem to be running:
