This occurred to me to, on three machines. Two of them running Intel
graphics (GMA4500HD and HD2000) and one running nVidia graphics
(9800GTX+).

I'm not currently on one of those machines so I can't test if the
slideshow still flickers but I haven't noticed any similar issue when
running Ubuntu after the install.
