Mountall makes no assumptions about network interfaces being up; on the
contrary, the network bring-up scripts signal mountall to re-try all
network mounts. This works reliably for me, and I have three NFS
entries in my /etc/fstab that mount without problems at boot.
Do you know if this bug still exists in 12.04? I suspect it's been
fixed in later releases. If you can still reproduce it in 12.04, please
attach your /etc/network/interfaces file and /etc/fstab. Please also
edit /etc/init/mountall.conf to comment out the 'console output' line
and add a '--verbose' option to the mountall exec line.

We still have the same problem with /home not mounting on start since it's nfs-mounted and thus we can't login without our fix.
