You seem to have a configuration error in your /etc/default/grub
configuration file. You have the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" pcie_aspm=force acpi=noirq
i915.semaphores=1

Notice how some parameters appear outside of the quotation marks. This
is incorrect and the line should look like:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash pcie_aspm=force acpi=noirq
i915.semaphores=1"

  Bug shown after upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04, along with a few other
  bugs I have submitted.

  Not sure on the reasons, but hope the debug info can help you.
