 It does help, when you first boot as live CD and then remove ubiquity-slideshow-(xubuntu) packadge. you can do it from live session bu opening terminal and typing there: sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-slideshow-xubuntu. Instead of "xubuntu" use your distro name.

I did this on Lubuntu 12.04 and then started the installation from
desktop icon and this time it went smoothly.

  Testing an installation of today's build amd64 from an usb key with persistence.
  Everythings go well till the slides appear, then after some times I note that the progress bar was again at the same point showing the same written
