Public bug reported:
when i start up my pc i get an error message about a package not working which I discovered later was the update manager and a red circle with a white minus in the middle appears in the notification area. I searched a lot on google and I tried all the solutions posted in all the the threads about this topic but nothing worked. I tried "sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf" and "sudu apt-get update" but I got the below error
E:Unable to synchronize mmap - msync (5: Input/output error), E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
any help would be appreciated.
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
