  update-notifier crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

  New

Bug description:
  update-notifier dies on login on quantal (beta 2, updated 2-Oct-2012
  ~11am EST)

  Trying to get 12.10 beta 2 running in a VirtualBox VM.

  This is what I've done:

  1) download Kubuntu quantal and install in a VM
  2) login plasma shell and 
                sudo apt-get install ubuntu-gnome-desktop
                sudo apt-get update
                sudo apt-get dist-upgrade 
  3) Reboot, login using Gnome
  4) login fails with attached info
