We no longer have code mangling xorg.conf, unless you're booting with
xforcevesa on the kernel command line.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: usb-creator

  When I set additional options in xorg.conf (for example loading glx module), these settings disappear after reboot,
  so it is not possible to set desktop effects.
  I have Ubuntu 8.10 32bit on ubb stick with 3GB persistence file.
  Used usb-creator 0.1.10
