I am not able to reproduce this bug in Quantal. Can you please confirm
that it is still occurring in prior versions of Ubuntu?

Title:
ubuntu, gmplayer not in mplayer package as reported

Status in “command-not-found” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
In ubuntu bash if you type in 'gmplayer' and don't have it installed it reports that it's provided by 'mplayer' ("You can install it by typing: sudo apt-get install mplayer") while it is provided by 'mplayer-gui'.
  Just a minor annoyance.
I'm not sure what package this bug belongs to.
