  SU doesnt show the user, like sudo does

Status in “shadow” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdm

  when one issues sudo, the prompt shows that user username.
  but if issuing something like:
  su USER
  no extra info is displayed, and may user in confusing to which pass to use.
