LDM support is a recently added feature in grub, so that would explain
why it didn't do this before.  You probably did use LDM on the drive at
some point in the past, but have long ago reformatted.  I'm looking into
the LDM format now.

Bug description:
  This happened after an update to grub using Ubuntu 12.10, all the
  sudden one day after updating windows 7 would not boot, i noticed that
  GRUB has now added LDM parameters to the Windows 7 loader in GRUB.
  Windows 7 is in fact NOT installed on LDM.
