Usually, although I am the admin, I am logged in to an account that has
no admin privileges. In the session settings, I have set the update
notifier to autostart however, because I like to have my eye on the
number of available updates.

Nonetheless, I am never notified about available updates, although ps
shows that update-notifier is running.

May this effect be caused by the solution to bug #22959?
