This bug affects me too:
/usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: warning: this GPT partition label contains no BIOS Boot Partition; embedding won't be possible.
/usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required for RAID and LVM install.
In the past this drive was formatted as LDM.
In attachment are first 3 MB from the disk.

Title:
  GRUB recognizes defunct LDM headers

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
GRUB recognizes stale LDM headers left on the disk after reformatting
without LDM. This causes grub to complain either that embedding is
not possible, and/or to incorrectly use the ldm partition module
  instead of msdos.
