Title:
Dialogue boxes too tall for 600 pixel high screens
Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When upgrading Xubuntu from 12.04 to 12.10, two dialogue boxes did not
fit on a 600 pixel high screen.
The first was towards the start of the process. reporting how many
packages would be updated. A large 'details' space was unused, pushing
the 'cancel' and OK buttons off the bottom of the screen.
To proceed, it is necessary to press the Tab key twice, then enter.
(Pressing Tab once selects, invisibly, the cancel button and the
upgrade is aborted.)
The second was at the end, asking if I wanted to remove obsolete and
unused packages.
The above procedure is needed to continue. Pressing Tab once before
enter means the packages are not removed, and on rebooting, apt-get
autoremove only removes the now unused packages.
Neither box had a 'maximise' button, which usually forces things to
fit on the screen, using scrollbars if necessary.
A screen resolution of 800x600 is still listed as the minimum to use
Xubuntu.
