  gdebi-kde not working on kubuntu 12.10

Status in “gdebi” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  when running "gdebi-kde" from console i get he following error

  Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/bin/gdebi-kde", line 67, in <module>
      help=unicode(_("Run non-interactive (dangerous!)"),"UTF-8"))
  TypeError: decoding Unicode is not supported

  and it never opens.

  i have 0.8.5ubuntu1 installed.
