The problem might have been caused by my first NTFS partition that must have been corrupted. While trying to resize it, GPARTED failed. I deleted that partition and created 2 new NTFS partitions instead. The first one is 100MB, the second one becomes the old, formerly corrupted partition.
grub-install /dev/sda works fine now :-)

Bug description:
  I installed Grub-Customizer on my system. Don't know if that is the cause for my problem.
  On next reboot, GRUB won't load: A blinking white cursor on black background appears on the top left corner on the screen. It keeps blinking forever, no change. I can only boot using superGRUBdisk. update-grub reports no errors. Running grub-install says:
  /usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: Warnung: Ihr Einbettungsbereich ist ungewöhnlich klein. core.img würde nicht hineinpassen..
