I'm sorry, but I don't think I will be able to break my now-working
system to get log files.

Title:
iogear GBU421 USB bluetooth plugged in screws up 12.04 install

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
With an iogear GBU421 plugged into my SONY VGN-AR630E, a 12.04.1
install (custom, multi-boot) doesn't shut down right (hangs) and when
booting with normal (non-recovery) boot hangs somewhere in bluetooth
initialization. Recovery boot succeeds. But if you do a continue
boot operation (or whatever the top option of the recovery menu is
named), X starts but all the displayed characters are empty
rectangles. X11 seems to start OK and does find fonts in
  /usr/share/fonts/X1in1/misc. Reinstalling ubuntu-desktop does not
help. This happened with multiple installs of the system until I
finally figured out where the boot was stopping and unplugged the
GBU421. It still wouldn't boot, but yet another reinstall of 12.04
fixed it. Now all works fine.
