You appear to be installing an Ubuntu derivative named Pinguy, and the
developers of that derivative have made some modifications to the
installer that resulted in the crash.  This is not something, we the
developers of Ubuntu can fix, and this should be taken up with the
Pinguy team.

Title:
  installation crashed (4th time in a row)

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  after three failed installation attempts, I had removed all partitions from the hdd now and gave it the fourth try.
  Again, installer crashed when almost ready, after installation program displayed "grub-install /dev /sda" and "update-grub".
  Then, as the other three times before, it says (German language) "Entschuldigung, der Installer ist abgestürzt" (roughly: "sorry, installer has crashed").
  Since there is neither software nor partition present on the disk when installation is run, the problem must be hardware-related.
  I've successfully performed a self-test of the install DVD. 
  W7 and W8 were able to install on the same hardware.
