Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. As plymouth is in charge of showing the splash screen (on
boot/shutdown), I'm reassigning this bug to plymouth. Sorry about the
noise. The other changes were meant for a different bug :).

Title:
Shutdown splash failing to load properly
Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When shutting down ubuntu, there should be a splash screen showing up
with the "Ubuntu" and the pricks Going white below.
I am running 13.04 beta - and i have tested it now for one day.
When shutting down the computer, the pricks in the splash shows up
ONLY. All the other screen is black, with terminal-like text. The
pricks are surrounded by squares and appears only when they are going
"white", and then they stays there.
-------------------
So: 1) Ubuntu Raring Ringtail (13.04 - Beta branch)
2) n/a
3) I was expecting it to show the whole splash screen on Shutdown
stage with a purple background.
4) The Background was black, and only the pricks showed up when they
was going "white".
