[Bug 1166379] Re: Check disc for defects fails to run from live media

@ amjjawad,

There is no fair comparison between the live and alternate images. The
alternates and netboot images are based on the debian-installer (d-i)
whereas the live images use casper while live, and ubiquity during
installation.

So reporting the behavior of an Alternate or netboot image in this bug
is not helpful.

Title:
Check disc for defects fails to run from live media

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Just as the title says the "Check disc for defects" option on the live
media fails to run, or even begin running in Raring. For this test I
used Ubuntu i386 20130408, but I also saw this with Lubuntu i386
  20130403.

OTOH it worked OK in Ubuntu GNOME i386 20130402.1.

Since we're approaching final testing this needs to be fixed ASAP.
