The third point, "unofficial packages not provided by Ubuntu", applies
to you as you have multiple PPAs enabled. Some of these have caused an
unresolvable situation due to the packages relationship to each other
and their dependencies.

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
Can't upgrade from ubuntu from 12.04 to 12.10

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10, the process crashes in step 3( Getting the new packages) and pops up the following message:
  Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

   This can be caused by:
   * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
  'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
