Public bug reported:
I did graphical upgrade from the desktop and replaced all config that
were prompted. I did clean up after as suggested and rebooted. Now, one
day after, I see that the message about new release is still there. motd
is generated so removing it will only remove it for a little while.
Workarounds:
According to http://askubuntu.com/questions/287939/update-available-message-after-installing-update
you can remove the file /var/lib/ubuntu-release-upgrader/release-upgrade-available
I guess that the updater needs to remove this cache as a fix.
