Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I suggest you report this to upstream if you feel
strongly enough to get it working the way you think it should (I
basically agree with you on that one). Upstream is where this detail
should be dealt with if anything. The issue you are reporting is an
upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the
bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/[Project_Name]. If you have done
so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we

Bug description:
I find myself frequently typing a month without the year to get that
month of this year. Cal defaults to this month, this year, would be
nice if it defaulted to this year when I just gave it a month instead
of returning syntax error.
