Thank you for your bug report, jockey got indeed deprecated but not in
12.04 LTS, you should keep using that UI there

Title:
  software-properties-gtk does not have drivers tab

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I recently upgraded my nvidia driver and after rebooting, checked
  jockey (additional drivers) to see if the new driver was installed.
  It said it was activated, but not in use.  This was an error as it was
  clearly in use.  I then discovered that jockey has been superseded by
  software-properties-gtk.  This is the gui that should be used for the
  old additional drivers function.  When running  software-properties-
  gtk, the dialog that opens does not have the last tab on the right
  that should show the additional drivers.
