Oh - sorry about this - I'd forgotten I'd posted the bug.  A couple of
weeks after I posted it, I did sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get
upgrade, and received an update for the software updeter gui.  After
that, it's worked OK.  Please can you mark the bug as 'fixed'?  Regards,
