Title:
fsck util-linux-ng : no boot after dist-upgrade !
Status in “util-linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: util-linux
Hallo, sorry for cross - bug reporting but i dont know how to reopen one
this is really similar to the bug 552018 that is signed as "fix released"
But it is affecting me too NOW !
I did a fresh (today not a RC) amd64 dist-upgrade from karmic on a HP Pavillion dv 6000 notebook (intel core-duo, nvidia go 8300)
and after reboot I'm not able to boot neither with 2.6.31-15, neither with 2.6.28-11 kernel
recovery mode doesn't work
console hangs after fsck controls of last primary partition (/dev/sda4) (with no errors)
ctrl+alt+canc works (but no other input in the console).
I'm not sure is graphic cardrelated; perhaps is related to a Plymouth mountall error earlier shown.
Be patient but it's not fixed!
I've seen on google that lot of people are experiencing serious troubles in Lucid booting with similar issues
so perhaps the new boot engine is a little immature.
Best regards
David
