Title:
  Update-manager Authenticate window stuck

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

Update manager in 10.10 RC up to date, pops up an authenticate window.
You enter your password and hit Authenticate and the window just stays
there (now without the password option). Clicking on Authenticate or
Cancel does nothing. If you close the window (click on X) then the
  updates are performed.

If you leave the window a long time it eventually goes away (5
minutes?). After that I again clicked on Install Updates - same window
pops up prompting for password - this time it works.
