Title:
  backspace and left arrow actions don't display properly when used with
  rhino

Status in “jline” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I've only experienced this problem trying to use rhino. Basically,
  hitting Backspace or Left Arrow jumps the cursor several characters to
  the left and the screen becomes unreadable. This was not a problem in
  Jaunty, the only other distro I've tested for this bug. It's
  definitely a problem with libjline-java (1.0-1), since if I remove
  libjline-java from the rhino JAVA_CLASSPATH the problem disappears.

  System:

  lizard:~grits$ cat /etc/lsb-release
  DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
  DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04
  DISTRIB_CODENAME=precise
  DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04 LTS"

  lizard:~grits$ apt-cache policy libjline-java
  libjline-java:
    Installed: 1.0-1
    Candidate: 1.0-1
    Version table:
   *** 1.0-1 0
