Some 'minor' news. I'm now able to see my USB key when navigating to
"Boot from EFI file". I had to zero the partition table :
$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdc bs=4M count=1
Then recreate the key using USB creator and the daily Raring image.
Now the USB key is visible from "Boot from EFI file" and I can navigate in the directories. But when I navigate to either under boot->grub or syslinux->grub->x86_64-efi I have no file that can be selected, only what seems like empty directories :

This is the case either with or without secureboot enabled

Bug description:
It is currently impossible to install the following Ubuntu version on
an HP sleekbook 15 laptop without changing the BIOS to "Legacy Mode".
The following tests have been performed :

(1) Existing Quantal install was visible and bootable
(2) Raring installer hangs on Plymouth right after the mouse's arrow appears
(3) Installation completes correctly but cannot be rebooted

In order to confirm that USB key visibility was not a hardware issue,
I created a Win8 recovery USB key which is correctly seen by the
laptop and can be booted from. An image of the key can be made
available.
FInally, the laptop is an Ubuntu certified laptop (pre-load only) :
