Title:
  annotate-output should preserve whitespace

Status in “devscripts” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
annotate-output currently clobbers line-initial whitespace, and also interprets backslash sequences:
  adehnert at esp:~$ annotate-output echo ' foo\\'
  01:37:31 I: Started echo foo\\
  01:37:31 O: foo\
  01:37:31 I: Finished with exitcode 0

I believe the attached patch fixes both these issues.

  Thanks,
  Alex
