Re-installing the following packages from synaptic package manager might
solve the issue. Worked for me. Had a similar issue and solved by re-
installing and reboot.
fuse (2.8.6-2ubuntu2)
gnome-disk-utility (3.0.2-2ubuntu7)
growisofs (7.1-10)
gvfs (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
gvfs-bin (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
gvfs-common (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
gvfs-daemons (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
gvfs-fuse (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
gvfs-libs (1.12.1-0ubuntu1.1)
libfuse2 (2.8.6-2ubuntu2)
libgdu0 (3.0.2-2ubuntu7)
libplymouth2 (0.8.2-2ubuntu31)
mountall (2.36.4)
plymouth (0.8.2-2ubuntu31)
rsyslog (5.8.6-1ubuntu8)
udisks (1.0.4-5ubuntu2.1)

Title:
Udisks --mount /dev/sda? does not work in 12.10
Status in “udisks” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
The udisks --mount command does not work in 12.10. I used it to
automount partitions (with launcher in autostart, which is simpler and
less risky than editing fstab) or mount them manually.
It seems that udisk2 is missing a section: filesystem-mount-system-internal. 12.04 had this entry but not 12.10 in
/usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.udisks2.policy
Udisks also looks for the entry in Udisk, not udisk2 above.
Example in terminal (not autostart):
udisks --mount /dev/sda3
Mount failed: Not Authorized: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: Action org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-mount-system-internal is not registered
Thanks.
