You seem to have ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates and xorg-edgers/ppa PPA
installed. As stated in the description of those PPAs, you must purge
them before attempting to upgrade your installation. So please do that
and try again...

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  in update manager i changed notification from Longterm to any version.
  clicked check for updates.
  clicked the 12.10 upgrade button.

  Could not calculate the upgrade

  An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
  E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

  This can be caused by:
  * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
  * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
  * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

  If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
  command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
