[Bug 1130617] [NEW] cant install bootloader and installation chrashed at the end

Public bug reported:
the Ubuntu release I try to install on a dell precision 670 is version
12.10 x64 . I try to install from a usb flash pendrive created with
lilli and updated it to the latest release before I tried to install it
on my internal hdd.
Setup is already stopped and I cant find the logfiles
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ /var/log/installer/syslog
bash: /var/log/installer/syslog: No such file or directory
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ /var/log/installer/partman instead
bash: /var/log/installer/partman: No such file or directory
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$

I beleive the problem is the bootloader Grub, I decided to finisch the
installation without this file and install it manually. Can you explain
to me were i can find it and how and were i should install it?

I had a lot of installation crashes and already used boot repair before the last crash. A few times it said the package was from a third party but I downloaded it from the ubuntu website
