[Bug 1095223] [NEW] Fedora partition needs to be mounted for an update-grub to discover it

Public bug reported:

I installed Fedora 18 beta in a separate partition beside Ubuntu 12.10
and Win7. As Fedora also installed a bootloader, I used boot-repair in
Ubuntu to have it set back to grub2.

In Ubuntu, the Fedora partition is usually not mounted. When I do an
update-grub or when this is done during ubuntu updates because a new
kernel is availabe, I lose the Fedora entries. I need to mount Fedora
partition manually, then update-grub to recover them.

Other Linux distros in different partitions should be discovered without
having to mount the partitions.

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
