Title:
  'which cd' prints nothing

Status in “debianutils” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  In Ubuntu 12.04, enter the command 'which cd'. It prints nothing. Same
  with whatis and whereis:

  $ whatis cd
  cd: nothing appropriate.
  $ whereis cd
  cd:
  $ which cd

  Lame. It should print that cd is a bash builtin, or a function or
  alias or whatever.

  Update:
  This thread suggests using 'type -P' instead:
  http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/10525/how-to-use-which-on-an-aliased-command

  While that is a solution, I don't think we should be satisfied with
  "which sucks, use something else instead"
