Title:
  Unable to install python:i386 (unmet dependency for CrossOver 11.3)

Status in “python-defaults” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  When I tried to install CrossOver package crossover_11.3.1-1_i386.deb
  downloaded from their site
  (http://www.codeweavers.com/http://www.codeweavers.com/ free trial are
  available here) it told me I have unmet dependency python:i386.

  So, I've tried to install it:

  $ sudo apt-get install python:i386

  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree       
  Reading state information... Done
  Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
  requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
  distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
  or been moved out of Incoming.
  The following information may help to resolve the situation:

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   python:i386 : Depends: python2.7:i386 (>= 2.7.3) but it is not going to be installed
                 Depends: python-minimal:i386 (= 2.7.3-0ubuntu7) but it is not going to be installed
  E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

  It's all get down to this:

  $ sudo apt-get install python2.7-minimal:i386

  Attempt to install this package proposed me to remove a lot of packages starting from these:
    activity-log-manager activity-log-manager-control-center aisleriot alacarte alarm-clock-applet
    apt-xapian-index apturl bzr bzrtools calibre calibre-bin cdbs checkbox-gtk clementine compiz

   and finished 1 whole screen below with these:
    vim-athena virtualbox-4.1 wakeup xchat xchat-common xdiagnose zeitgeist zeitgeist-core
    zeitgeist-datahub zeroinstall-injector

  It's clearly is not right.
