The information in your bug report shows that you had no 'splash' option
on your kernel command line when booting. This is the expected behavior
from Plymouth in such a case.

Your command line is also otherwise heavily modified, so I don't see any
reason to think this is a bug in another packer, as opposed to a change
you made. Closing as invalid.

** Changed in: plymouth (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
plymouth is not working; raring is telling the whole text story on
  boot

Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
After upgrading the system on the weekend saturday 5.1.2013 and sunday
the 6.1.2012 plymouth is no longer hiding the boot text.

I see here the whole long story on boot.

Unfortunally I can not give a reproducing procedure for this.

  A reinstall with

  sudo apt-get --reinstall install plymouth

do not change the system behaviour.
