[Bug 1199936] package update-notifier-common 0.134 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Hi, thanks for getting back to me on this.  I’m pretty sure this
happened because I manually compiled and installed python 2.7.5 on my
system.  I changed my symlinks to point back to 2.7.4 and the issue
appears to have resolved itself.
