[Bug 1206934] [NEW] Startup screen doesn't show fsck text

When there is a disk error at startup, this text is supposed to be
overlaid on the startup screen.

On my MacBook running Ubuntu 13.04, the text does not appear. It can be
seen only in a console by pressing Esc at the startup screen.
