Title:
Hardy / Intrepid PPC Alternate CD installer usually hangs with
'Partitioner' at 55%
Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: debian-installer
Configuration:
PowerMac G4 MDD Dual 1GHz, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (RV250) w/DVI and ADC
When running install using Alternate CD (with duplicate CD in 2nd drive, as per prior bug report):
- usually begins with repeating "... hde: drive not ready for command" message before entering the installer
- proceeds normally as far as 'Starting up the partitioner', but then stalls at 55%
On RANDOM, rare occasions the installer will get past this point. If
it does, the install appears to proceed normally, but the resulting
System is unusably slow.
