  init crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

Status in “upstart” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  After rebooting, I tried to log in to my desktop, but the screen
  stayed black. It dropped me right back to the login screen. After a
  second attempt, I was able to log in and was presented with this error
  message that I am posting here.
