During update-manager auto run, the following system error promtp shows,
telling me to report a bug here enclosing the following message:

E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/it.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-
updates_main_i18n_Translation-en, E:L'elenco dei pacchetti o il file di
stato non può essere letto o aperto

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS

sudo apt-cache policy update-manager
[sudo] password for adaca: 
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/it.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-updates_main_i18n_Translation-en
E: L'elenco dei pacchetti o il file di stato non può essere letto o aperto.

so I cannot fetch the package version!
