Updated packages
Attempted to install IBM Java JRE V7 - failed on GPF immediately, no installation GUI
Attempted to install IBM Java JRE V6 - failed on GPF (after completing installation GUI)
Attempted to upgrade to Ubuntu 12.whatever
Update manager reported that it failed
